As disciples of Jesus, we strengthen our faith by living his Word and spreading the Good News. Women’s Council provides many opportunities for women of the parish to gather and reflect on the gifts that our faith brings to our lives.
The women of St. Norbert parish gather each fall to celebrate a mass fashioned especially for them by one of our guilds. The readings, music and intentions reflect issues important to women’s lives. The St. Norbert Woman of the Year is honored as part of the celebration. A reception after the mass provides an opportunity to socialize.
A monthly prayer and reflection is distributed at each month’s Board Meeting to guild leaders to share at their guild meetings. This unites Council members in spirit and reminds us of the focus of our ministry and why we gather together.
Stations of the Cross (Mary’s Perspective)
On a Lenten Friday evening, the Stations of the Cross are organized by one of the Council guilds and presented from Mary’s perspective. A narrator describes the events as participants move to each station. A communal prayer is recited at each stop while contemporary music accompanies the observance.
Go Ask Father
All Council members are invited to an evening of conversation and reflection with a St. Norbert Parish priest. This roundtable dialogue involves, but is not limited to, questions about our faith and the workings of the Church. A brief social occurs before and after the discussion.
